What AppCage does
AppCage is a focus tool built on Apple's Screen Time framework: you tell it which apps or categories to restrict, and it writes those choices as system limits. A plan guards in one of two ways: with Lock, the icon stays where it is and iOS shows its block screen when the app is opened; with Hide, iOS removes the app from the Home Screen, the App Library and search. AppCage never touches that app's process.
Your responsibilities
- You set and keep your own passcode and recovery code. The passcode is stored only in this device's Keychain and we cannot recover it for you; if you forget it, the recovery code is the only way to reset.
- Please don't use this app for anything unlawful or harmful to others, and don't reverse engineer, crack or redistribute it.
Authorization and how limits take effect
The app depends on system authorization. Turning off Screen Time authorization in Settings lifts every limit at once; that switch is provided by iOS and keeping it on is your choice. How well limits work depends on your iOS version, authorization state and device state.
Data and privacy
The apps you restrict, your block history and your usage statistics all stay on this device. We neither collect nor upload them. See the Privacy Policy for the full picture.
Intellectual property
The AppCage name, icon, interface and code belong to the developer. They may not be used commercially or redistributed without permission.
Trial and billing
Whether a free trial is offered, how many days it lasts and what each plan costs are all set by what the subscription page shows (provided by the App Store and subject to change in App Store Connect). A trial costs nothing; you're reminded one day before it ends, and it then renews at the plan you chose. A one-time purchase has no trial and is charged once.
Auto-renewal
The subscription renews automatically within 24 hours before the current period ends, charged to your Apple ID account. The renewal price matches the original purchase price; we may let you know before a price change.
Cancellation and refunds
Cancel any time in Settings › Apple ID › Subscriptions. Pro stays available until the end of the current period rather than switching off immediately. Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies — we can't process them for you.
Restore purchases
After switching devices or reinstalling, tap “Restore Purchases” on the subscription page with the same Apple ID to get Pro back at no extra cost.
What Pro includes
Pro unlocks:
- Unlimited shield plans and app limits (the free version allows 1)
- Scheduled plans, free time and temporary access
- Full usage insights: day-by-day detail for about the last month
- System limits: install and purchase restrictions, content and privacy ratings
About the free version
The free version works indefinitely, with basic shield plans and a limit of 1 item, without the Pro features above. We never switch off the plans you've already created just because you don't subscribe.
Changes to these terms
Updates to these terms ship with new versions; continuing to use the app means you accept them.
These terms are updated with new releases; where they differ from what the App Store shows, the App Store page wins. Apple handles subscriptions — we never see your payment details.
